We are seeking a Staff Structural Engineer – Lattice Tower to support structural design, modeling, analysis, and project documentation for a diverse range of transmission tower projects. This role offers strong growth potential, competitive compensation, and excellent long‑term benefits.

About the Role

This position is responsible for structural planning, analysis, design support, report preparation, and the development of construction documentation as part of a project team. The engineer will work across a broad portfolio of transmission tower and structural projects while supporting modeling, calculations, engineering deliverables, and quality reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural project design tasks, including PLS-Tower modeling, finite‑element modeling, analysis, reinforcement design, and retrofit or new‑construction work.
  • Support proposal development through man‑hour estimates, scheduling inputs, and budget support.
  • Contribute to project deliverables from conceptual through detailed design.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, and calculations for complex structural assignments.
  • Apply standard engineering techniques, design methods, industry software, and CAD workflows to refine sketches and produce design outputs.
  • Implement design changes, update sketches, and redline drawings on active projects.
  • Analyze engineering reports, drawings, maps, tests, and related data to inform structural design decisions.
  • Integrate design codes, engineering standards, and project specifications into all structural work products.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and back‑checks of drawings, models, and shop drawing reviews.
  • Maintain organized and up‑to‑date project files, drawings, models, and document versions.
  • Assist in reviewing project schedules, budgets, and design criteria to support design layout decisions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program, and 3 years of structural engineering experience;
    OR
    Bachelor’s degree in Structural or related Engineering Technology with FE exam completion and 3 years of structural engineering experience;
    OR
    Master’s degree in Structural Engineering with 2 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of standard structural engineering techniques, procedures, and design methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking ability, and quantitative problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and modeling software (e.g., RISA‑3D, AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, Revit, Tekla).
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification preferred.
