Overview of the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Controller to oversee the financial operations of our small to mid-sized company. The Corporate Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records, preparing financial reports, and developing strategies to improve financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to the executive team.
- Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger, bank statements, and accounts, and handle month and year-end closing and reporting.
- Produce, review, and interpret monthly reports, including the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow analysis, profit/loss statements, quarterly tax estimates for shareholders
- Accounting Oversight: Ensure high work standard through the supervision and management of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger functions, and collections.
- Check Collection and Deposit: Will be required to go into the Denver office every week to collect and deposit checks, ensuring the company's cash flow remains uninterrupted and accurately recorded.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the company and departmental budgets and financial forecasts; analyze variances and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements. Ensure semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, and annual federal and multi-state payroll tax reporting for the company.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, including collections, disbursements, and investments.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audits and implement recommendations for improvement.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making and support business growth.
- Commission management: Handle monthly sales and recruiting commissions and payments.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain the integrity of financial processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
- PEO Collaboration: Work closely with PEO (Professional Employer Organization) on payroll processing, 401K reporting, and employee reporting. Reevaluating health benefits and other PEO organizations annually.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as controller for a small to mid-sized company, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP; proficiency with accounting software and MS Office Suite; excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, ability to work under pressure, strong problem-solving skills, and a team player.

Hiring Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000/yearly (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).
