ComResource is looking for a Product Manager, Commerce.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and Reconcile System Capabilities
- Deeply evaluate how ERP, OMS, and eCommerce platforms behave out of the box, including default configurations, standard workflows, and platform constraints.
- Conduct structured gap analysis between out-of-the-box system capabilities and the current eCommerce state, identifying what can be adopted as-is, what requires adaptation, and what represents a true gap requiring custom development or process change.
- Document findings in clear, business-readable formats that allow stakeholders to make informed decisions without needing deep technical backgrounds.
- Serve as the authority on what good looks like for commerce technology configuration, informed by both industry best practices and organization-specific requirements.
Define and Drive Business and Technical Requirements
- Partner with business stakeholders across eCommerce, Trade, Store Operations, and Finance to elicit, validate, and prioritize requirements.
- Translate business needs into well-structured business requirements documents (BRDs) that serve as reliable input for technical requirements and SI delivery teams.
- Own the requirements backlog for commerce technology workstreams, maintaining prioritization, managing change, and ensuring traceability from business need to delivered capability.
- Apply product ownership discipline to backlog management, including writing clear acceptance criteria, facilitating trade-off conversations, and making sequencing decisions that maximize value delivery.
Support SI Partners Across Transformation Programs
- Act as the primary product and requirements counterpart for SI partners on commerce technology workstreams, ensuring they have what they need to build correctly.
- Review SI-proposed solutions and configurations against requirements, flagging deviations and driving resolution before they become delivery issues.
- Maintain active engagement across transformation programs, connecting the dots on decisions that affect shared commerce capabilities.
- Represent the eCommerce perspective in cross-program forums, ensuring that decisions made on ERP and OMS programs do not inadvertently constrain or compromise the digital commerce experience.
Lead Commerce Product Strategy and Roadmap Thinking
- Develop and maintain a clear view of the commerce technology landscape, including current state, near-term delivery commitments, and longer-term evolution.
- Bring a product management mindset to roadmap planning by identifying capability gaps, sequencing initiatives logically, and building a case for investment based on business impact.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to business and IT leadership on how commerce technology can enable growth across eCommerce, Trade, B2B, and omnichannel selling.
- Help build internal commerce technology competency by establishing practices, templates, and ways of working that extend beyond any single project.
Build Trust with Business Stakeholders
- Operate as a trusted, proactive partner for business teams, taking the time to understand commercial realities and translating them into technology decisions.
- Create and maintain feedback loops that keep business stakeholders informed, engaged, and appropriately involved in technology decisions that affect their domains.
- Navigate ambiguity and competing priorities with transparency, bringing structure and clarity.
Essentials:
- 8+ years of experience spanning product management, product ownership, and/or business analysis in a commerce technology context.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating enterprise commerce platforms, including how out-of-the-box capabilities map to real business requirements in a retail, direct-to-consumer, or omnichannel environment.
- Experience working alongside SI partners on large-scale ERP, OMS, or eCommerce platform implementations with direct accountability for requirements and product decisions.
- Proven track record writing high-quality BRDs and user stories that are clear, complete, and usable by both business and technical teams.
- Familiarity with order management, product catalog management, pricing and promotions, and customer experience workflows in a retail commerce context.
- Fluent in both business and technology language with the ability to move between executive conversations and detailed functional specifications.
- Strong analytical instincts, including comfort with gap analyses, structured trade-off recommendations, and decision documentation.
- Naturally collaborative with the credibility and communication skills to become a trusted partner for business stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating across multiple programs simultaneously with the organization and judgment to keep multiple workstreams moving.
