Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Bandsaw Operator to join our fabrication team. This role involves operating and maintaining industrial bandsaw machinery to perform precision cuts on various materials, primarily metals, according to detailed specifications. The ideal candidate will have prior experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate band saw equipment to cut and shape materials according to blueprints and work orders
- Perform accurate measuring and marking of materials prior to cutting
- Adjust cutting speeds, feeds, and guides based on material type and thickness
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality and precision
- Perform routine maintenance on the bandsaw, including cleaning and lubrication
- Follow all company safety guidelines and wear required PPE at all times
- Assist with other fabrication tasks and machine operations as needed
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating a bandsaw or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical diagrams
- Proficient in using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and gauges
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in metal fabrication or production environments
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting machine issues
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Work Environment:
- Non-climate-controlled production setting
- Moderate noise levels and physical activity required
- Must follow all safety protocols, including the use of protective gear
