Job Summary:
The Water Spider plays a critical support role in the production or warehouse environment by ensuring materials, tools, and supplies are consistently available to operators and team members. This position focuses on maintaining an efficient workflow by minimizing downtime and supporting a lean manufacturing or distribution process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively deliver raw materials, components, tools, and supplies to workstations to prevent production delays.
- Monitor inventory levels at point-of-use locations and replenish as needed.
- Coordinate with inventory control and warehouse teams to ensure accurate material movement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist in 5S and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with team leads and operators to anticipate and respond to needs.
- Remove completed goods or waste materials from workstations and deliver them to designated areas.
- Document material movements accurately using manual or digital inventory tracking systems.
- Identify and report any material shortages or quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and standard operating procedures at all times.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1+ year of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment preferred.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (5S, Just-In-Time, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Experience with inventory tracking systems or handheld scanners preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced, industrial environment with exposure to machinery and moving equipment.
- May require standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift.
