Job Title: Plant Controller
Location: Bolingbrook, IL (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $120K-$140K

We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Plant Controller to lead financial operations at our SQF-certified frozen food manufacturing facility. This full-time, onsite role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost control, inventory accuracy, and data-driven decision-making at the plant level. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoy working cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead all plant-level accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis
Manage inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and updates to standard costs
Analyze production costs, yields, and operational KPIs in partnership with plant leadership
Support timely and accurate month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Oversee physical inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain high inventory accuracy
Ensure compliance with internal controls and SQF-related financial documentation
Act as a key liaison between plant operations and corporate finance
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost efficiency and financial transparency

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA a plus)
Minimum of 5 years of plant or cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Prior experience in food manufacturing and familiarity with SQF standards preferred
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory systems, and ERP software (NetSuite experience is a plus)
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Must be able to work onsite and collaborate closely with plant and cross-functional teams
