We are currently hiring for a Fire Alarm Inspector opportunity with a growing organization in the fire protection and life safety industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in fire alarm inspections, testing, preventative maintenance, or life safety systems who is looking to join a stable and growing team.
Position Overview
The Fire Alarm Inspector will be responsible for performing inspections, testing, preventative maintenance, and service on fire alarm and suppression systems in commercial, industrial, and residential environments. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and service on fire alarm and suppression systems
- Inspect, test, and verify system functionality while ensuring compliance with NFPA codes and industry standards
- Identify and troubleshoot system deficiencies and document findings accurately
- Educate customers on system functionality, safety practices, and recommendations
- Complete inspection reports, service documentation, and compliance paperwork in a timely manner
- Manage schedules and job progress efficiently while maintaining high-quality service standards
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, lifts, and equipment in proper working condition
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior experience inspecting, testing, or servicing fire alarm systems preferred
- Knowledge of NFPA codes and fire/life safety regulations
- NICET Level I certification or higher is required
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in the field
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in commercial, industrial, and outdoor environments
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, lifts, and safety equipment
