Job Duties

Install fire alarm systems, control panels, devices, and associated equipment using installation drawings, building plans, and electrical layouts
Mount sensors and equipment in appropriate locations, including drilling, routing cabling, and accessing elevated or confined areas as needed
Program and configure Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs) using manufacturer software
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, submittals, and technical manuals
Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and final system checkout to ensure proper functionality
Maintain quality workmanship while managing schedules and productivity efficiently
Inspect job sites and review work orders to determine installation procedures and material requirements
Complete all required documentation, reports, and project records accurately and on time
Ensure all work complies with NFPA 72, local building codes, and company standards
Monitor labor hours and maintain awareness of project budgets and production goals
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Properly maintain company vehicles, lifts, tools, and equipment

Qualifications/Job Details

High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Experience installing, servicing, or troubleshooting fire alarm systems in commercial or industrial environments
Strong understanding of fire alarm codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA 72
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
Technical or vocational training in fire alarm systems or related field
NICET Certification(s)
Experience with fire alarm programming and integration  Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods
Comfortable working in commercial, industrial, and outdoor environments
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces while using appropriate fall protection and safety equipment
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and specialty equipment
