The Fire Sprinkler Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial facilities. This role focuses heavily on service, repairs, and preventative maintenance while ensuring systems remain compliant with NFPA standards and local fire codes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and experience working independently in the field. Payrate Based on Experience $60-$80K
Job Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of wet, dry, and pre-action fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 25 requirements
- Inspect sprinkler heads, valves, piping, pumps, and control systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance
- Identify deficiencies, corrosion, leaks, damage, or other system issues and recommend corrective actions
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fire sprinkler systems and related equipment
- Replace damaged or malfunctioning components, clean sprinkler heads and piping, lubricate moving parts, and adjust system settings as needed
- Inspect and test fire pump assemblies, including flow rates, pressure levels, and mechanical performance
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergency repair requests
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, work orders, customer notes, and deficiency documentation using the Service Trade platform
- Work closely with Deficiency Sellers to provide accurate repair recommendations and material requirements
- Coordinate with Service Coordinators to optimize scheduling, materials, and job efficiency
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding inspection findings, repairs, and system improvement recommendations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA 13, NFPA 25, local codes, and company standards
Qualifications/Job Details
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Colorado State Sprinkler Fitter License
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial environments
- Strong understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 25, and applicable fire and building codes
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
- Technical or vocational training related to fire protection systems
- Experience with fire pumps and advanced sprinkler system troubleshooting
- NICET Certification Required
