PACU Registered Nurse

Job Description:

We're partnering with an award winning surgery center in the greater Hartford, CT area to help them find a strong Registered Nurse for a hybrid PACU/Procedure Room Nurse role.

The role would be focused on our Pain room patients, however also work in Preop and PACU.

PACU RN Position Description:

The PACU Registered nurse position is responsible for direct nursing care of patients in the pre-operative, post anesthesia care unit and will rotate into the pain management procedure room. The PACU Registered Nurse is knowledgeable in all areas of perioperative nursing, post anesthesia recovery, pain, and patient teaching.

Requirements

Current unencumbered CT RN license
PACU/Critical Care experience preferred.
Ambulatory surgery center experience a plus
Knowledge and clinical skills to perform the job duties of a Pre-op/PACU nurse.
Ability and desire to learn Procedure Room RN responsibilities.
BLS and ACLS certifications
ASPAN/CAPA preferred.
A knowledge of aseptic technique, anesthetic agents and complications, and the ability to handle emergency situations in a professional manner.
Must be able to communicate effectively and have an ability to work compatibly with all physicians and staff.
Must be able to speak, read and write English.
Possess strong organizational skills, and a clear understanding of the importance of efficiency and cost effectiveness in an ambulatory surgery center.

**You will not work weekends, holidays or have an on-call rotation!

Our busy orthopedic ambulatory surgery center provides outpatient surgical procedures to the surrounding communities.

We promote a work-life balance. We offer 8-hour days 5 days a week or 10-hour days 4 days a week.

Hours: Full Time - 40 hours per week
