Position: Prevention Educator
Position Type: Permanent
Location: Fair Lawn, NJ (Will require local travel)
Hours: Business Hours (7am-3pm, 8am – 4pm, or 9am-5pm shifts available)
Some evening and weekend work will be required on a rotational basis.
We have multiple job openings for Prevention Educators. The candidate selected for this role, in partnership with youth, families, schools, and communities, implements evidence-based and evidence-informed prevention programs and services for all Bergen County school districts to promote mental health wellness.
What you will be doing:
- Collaborates with consultants, school districts, and community service providers to facilitate training, workshops, assemblies, etc.
- Assists in the programmatic data collection, reporting, continuous quality improvement processes and evaluation of services to target population.
- Provides ongoing input on hub design areas of focus, supportive community resources, etc.
- Assists in planning programs in schools and communities.
- Maintains active, constructive relationships with collaborative partners, funding sources, school administration and faculty, community groups, service providers, and other relevant agencies.
- Maintains current knowledge of evidence-based prevention programming and implements evidence-based prevention services and curricula with fidelity.
- Participates in relevant state and community meetings to promote program awareness.
- Other duties as assigned.
What experience we are looking for:
- Required bachelor’s degree in a Human Services related field, experience in the provision of prevention related programs.
- Required at least three (3) years’ experience working in a non-profit, social service environment in development or implementation of community-based services, prevention programs, or any other human service programs.
- Bilingual Spanish/Polish/Korean preferred.
- Experience in implementing evidence-based practice models and other materials related to training and coaching according to policies and procedures.
- Available to work a combination of before, during and after school hours.
- Excellent communication skills - oral and written.
- Valid driver’s license and use of own vehicle for self-transportation.
- Must identify with the mission and goals of the agency.
- Ability to effectively work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and races.
- Ability to effectively work as a team member.
Salary Range: $46,000 - $50,000. For benefits eligible employees: medical, dental, vision, holiday pay, vacation pay, and sick pay, life insurance, retirement plan, accidental death & dismemberment insurance, long term disability Insurance.
