Position Overview:
We are seeking a Sr. Facility Maintenance Technician for a key role at our temperature-controlled food production facility in Lancaster, TX. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, leadership capabilities, and experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will support facility operations by maintaining, repairing, and improving equipment while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency are upheld.
Work Environment:
This is a refrigerated facility; temperatures are consistently maintained around 38°F.
Proper PPE required: Non-slip, closed-toed shoes, warm clothing layers, work gloves.
Strict dress code: No facial piercings, artificial nails, eyelashes, ripped clothing, or Crocs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on production, packaging, and facility equipment.
Troubleshoot and conduct minor electrical repairs including AC/DC motor controls and solid-state systems.
Assist in planning maintenance activities and coordinate repair schedules.
Accurately complete and log work orders and maintenance records.
Conduct daily inspections and support preventive and reliability-based maintenance.
Promote GMP compliance, safety, and productivity standards.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and safety committees.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
Support and mentor junior technicians as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Proficient with hand/power tools and diagnostic instruments (e.g., multimeters).
Basic math proficiency, including fractions, percentages, and metric conversions.
Ability to lift up to 49 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working in a cold environment.
