LIFEGUARDS – SEASONAL

SUMMER SCHEDULE

WAGE: $16/HR

Job Summary:

The Lifeguard is responsible for supervising campers and staff during swimming and other water-related activities, ensuring the safety of all participants. Lifeguards help implement aquatic programs, enforce pool safety rules, and respond effectively in case of emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor pool, lakefront, and all aquatic activities to prevent accidents and injuries.
Enforce camp safety regulations and emergency procedures at all times.
Perform rescues and administer first aid or CPR when necessary.
Assist in daily maintenance and cleanliness of aquatic facilities and equipment.
Participate in planning and leading swim sessions and aquatic games.
Work collaboratively with other camp staff to ensure a positive and inclusive camp environment.
Attend staff training and participate in emergency drills.
Maintain a positive attitude and model respectful, inclusive behavior.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old.
Current Lifeguard Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., American Red Cross).
Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certification.
Ability to work in an outdoor environment, including in and around water, for extended periods.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred, but not required.
Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Must pass a background check and complete required training.
