LIFEGUARDS – SEASONAL
SUMMER SCHEDULE
WAGE: $16/HR
Job Summary:
The Lifeguard is responsible for supervising campers and staff during swimming and other water-related activities, ensuring the safety of all participants. Lifeguards help implement aquatic programs, enforce pool safety rules, and respond effectively in case of emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor pool, lakefront, and all aquatic activities to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Enforce camp safety regulations and emergency procedures at all times.
- Perform rescues and administer first aid or CPR when necessary.
- Assist in daily maintenance and cleanliness of aquatic facilities and equipment.
- Participate in planning and leading swim sessions and aquatic games.
- Work collaboratively with other camp staff to ensure a positive and inclusive camp environment.
- Attend staff training and participate in emergency drills.
- Maintain a positive attitude and model respectful, inclusive behavior.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Current Lifeguard Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., American Red Cross).
- Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certification.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment, including in and around water, for extended periods.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Must pass a background check and complete required training.
