Kable Staffing is hiring a Slitter Operator in Hebron, KY. This position is a full-time, temp to hire opportunity.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret production specifications and bill of materials.
- Set up machines for each job
- Installing jumbos and threading film.
- Setting blades, programming machine parameters, and preparing leader tables.
- Retrieve correct cores from inventory.
- Perform first runs and verify quality standards.
- Complete changeovers, quality checks using calipers and durometers, and maintain documentation.
- Operate walk-behind material handling equipment safely.
- Adjust machine settings such as speed, tension, and brakes.
- Resolve film breaks by rethreading and restarting the machine.
- Progress through levels from Operator I to Expert/Lead based on proficiency and efficiency.
- Operate both Cells (11 and 12), set correct stoppers, change tools, and initialize cells independently.
REQUIREMENTS

- Demonstrates initiative, handles repetitive tasks with consistency, and maintains a high standard of performance.
- Takes personal responsibility for product quality, addresses issues promptly, and helps prevent future errors.
- Ability to stand for extended periods; occasional walking, stooping, twisting, and rotating.
- Must be able to lift and carry 10–35 pounds occasionally; handle materials up to 300 pounds using equipment.
- Depth perception and communication (oral and written) are essential.
- Indoor, manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to machinery and moving parts.
- Occasionally near forklifts and heavy equipment.
- Safety shoes always required.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role preferred.
- Ability to read production documents and perform basic math and measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and safety protocols.
- Ability commonsense understanding to carryout written or oral instructions and deal with problems involving some variability.
- Ability to add, subtract, and divide all units of measure and compute ratios.
- Ability to read work instructions, methods and procedures; speak with others clearly and convey information effectively.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
