MBS is hiring a Cost Accountant in Cincinnati, OH. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares, reconciles, and analyzes job cost reports and gross margin reports.
Works with project engineers to identify significant cost variances and issues.
Prepares and analyzes the deferred variances and overhead absorption schedules.
Reconciles unvouchered payables and other accrued liabilities.
Monitors inventory practices to ensure costing accuracy of Inventories and Cost of Goods Sold.
Reconciles other accruals as needed.
Reconciles Balance Sheet Accounts as assigned.
Maintains the fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
Reviews labor reporting between time tracking software and ERP system.
Assists outside auditors in connection with audit procedures.
Performs special accounting projects as assigned.
Performs other miscellaneous tasks as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 5 years of practical job-related experience in cost accounting.
Must be well organized with knowledge of PC applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, especially Excel), accurate data entry skills and ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to move or lift to 50+ lbs.
Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
Communication skills.
