CDR General Services is seeking a Class A Fitter to join our team near Paducah, KY with experience working in barge repair. Pay Rate: $29 per hour 

• 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM

Key Responsibilities 

• Perform fitting, layout, and fabrication work on barges during repair and maintenance projects 

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders 

• Measure, cut, fit, and tack weld steel components as required 

• Repair and replace structural components, including plates, stiffeners, frames, and bulkheads 

• Work closely with welders and supervisors to ensure proper fit-up and job completion 

• Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, and measuring equipment safely 

• Ensure work meets quality standards, specifications, and safety requirements 

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company and site safety policies

 
Qualifications 

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Class A Fitter required 

• 2+ years of experience in barge repair or marine fabrication required 

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings 

• Strong knowledge of structural steel fitting and layout 

• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment 

• Must be able to stand, bend, lift, and work in confined spaces as required
