Peak Performers has partnered with a Texas State Agency to assist in their search for a contract Senior Network Administrator in San Antonio, Tx.
Major duties
- Provide day-to-day administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation, and improvement of TXCC business network services across Austin and San Antonio.
- Support LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall, internet edge, DNS, DHCP, remote access, network monitoring, network diagrams, capacity planning, and service restoration activities.
- Support secure network operations for a high-assurance business IT environment, including segmentation, access control coordination, vendor handoff, configuration review, change implementation, service ticket resolution, and operational documentation.
- Work with staff, service providers, and site support personnel to keep network services available, secure, and ready for agency operations.
- Assist with network procurement support, asset inventory, cutover planning, migration support, vulnerability remediation, after-hours maintenance windows, and incident-related fact gathering when requested.
What are we looking for?
- 8+ years of experience administering and supporting enterprise network environments, including LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and internet connectivity services.
- Strong experience with routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, wireless networking, and network performance monitoring.
- Experience implementing secure network architectures, segmentation, access controls, and change management processes.
- Experience troubleshooting network issues and coordinating with vendors, service providers, and internal support teams.
- Experience with IT operations processes, including ticketing systems, monitoring, documentation, and asset management.
- Experience supporting cloud, SaaS, endpoint, identity, and collaboration technologies that impact network performance and user productivity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Aruba, Meraki, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, zero trust architectures, and modern remote access solutions.
- Experience working in public sector, higher education, critical infrastructure, or other regulated environments.
- Relevant networking or security certifications such as Network+, CCNA, PCNSA, JNCIA, CISSP, or equivalent experience.
