Shift: 11:00am-7:30pm; Alternating Weekends Required
Pay: $18.00/hr
Job Summary
Penmac Staffing is hiring an Environmental Services (EVS) Technician to perform essential
cleaning and sanitation services within a healthcare environment. This role supports a
safe, clean, and welcoming facility that positively contributes to patient care and the
healing process. EVS Technicians interact with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff and
are expected to demonstrate courtesy, professionalism, and respect at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The EVS Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and sanitation
throughout the facility, including but not limited to:
•Cleaning & Sanitation
• Dust, clean, and sanitize furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures
• Clean windows, walls, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures
• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax, and refinish floors
• Vacuum, spot clean, and shampoo carpets
• Change cubicle curtains and drapes
• Clean and stock restroom supplies
• Empty, sanitize, and transport waste and recycling
• Clean cigarette receptacles in designated smoking areas
Waste & Recycling
• Properly remove and transport solid waste to compactors
• Dispose of cardboard and recyclable materials according to procedures
• Support environmental sustainability initiatives
Equipment & Safety
• Operate cleaning equipment according to instructions
• Clean and maintain equipment after each use
• Inspect equipment for safety and functionality
• Report repair or maintenance needs promptly
Documentation & Communication
• Document cleaning activities accurately
• Communicate effectively between shifts
• Report incomplete work or special cleaning needs to supervisors
• Identify and report areas requiring additional attention

Qualifications
Required:
• Ability to read and write at an 8th-grade level
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Willingness to work in a healthcare environment
Preferred:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of healthcare housekeeping or environmental services experience

• Medication Access: May access areas where medications are stored but will not
handle or access medication storage devices
Training & Development
• Attend required training sessions
• Learn and follow proper chemical usage and dilution
• Read labels, safety data sheets, and technical updates
• Maintain knowledge of department policies and procedures
