Penmac Staffing is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to support a local insurance company in their accounting department. This is a full‑time opportunity for someone who is detail‑oriented, organized, and confident working with accounting processes in a fast‑paced office environment. The Accounts Payable Specialist plays an important role in ensuring accurate, timely payments and maintaining well‑organized financial records.

Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
Schedule: Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Process accounts payable transactions, including reviewing invoices and preparing disbursements for open A/P items
• Prepare and process ACH payments, ensuring all supporting documentation is accurate and delivered correctly
• Monitor aged accounts payable reports to identify discrepancies, missed payments, or items requiring correction
• Reconcile payments to accounts payable detail, with an emphasis on insurance‑related transactions
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with accounting procedures
• Assist with additional accounting tasks or special projects as assigned

• Minimum of 2 years of accounting or accounts payable experience preferred
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
• Ability to follow company policies and procedures with minimal supervision
