💰 Pay: $25 - $45/hr (Based on experience & location)
🕒 Job Type: Full-Time (Travel Required: 2-4 weeks at a time)

Job Overview:

Wachter is hiring Fire Alarm & Intrusion/Burg Technicians to work on commercial fire alarm and security systems across multiple locations in the U.S. This position requires extensive travel (2-4 weeks at a time) and offers competitive pay based on experience and location. A company vehicle may be provided after the initial 2-4 weeks of employment.

We are looking for licensed technicians with experience in commercial fire alarm systems, intrusion/burg panels, cabling, access control, and troubleshooting. Candidates must have commercial experience, preferably in large-scale installations and multi-site projects.

🔥 Important Qualifications – Please Read Before Applying:

✔️ Licensing: A state-required Physical Security or Life Safety license is mandatory for this position in most locations.
✔️ We highly prefer candidates who already hold the required licensing, but we may assist experienced technicians in obtaining the necessary credentials.
✔️ NICET certification (Preferred, but not required) – NICET Level I-III in Fire Alarm Systems is a plus.
✔️ Must have experience working on commercial projects – residential-only experience will not meet the requirements for this role.

Job Responsibilities:

✔️ Install, repair, and upgrade commercial fire alarm & intrusion systems
✔️ Program and troubleshoot fire alarm control panels
✔️ Install and connect sensors, cabling, and panels according to blueprints
✔️ Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work
✔️ Ensure all work complies with NFPA standards (NFPA 70 & NFPA 72)
✔️ Test and troubleshoot new system installations for proper functionality
✔️ Work at heights using BOOM or scissor lifts when required
✔️ Maintain strong customer communication and relationship skills

Additional Requirements:

✅ Minimum 2+ years of commercial fire alarm or intrusion system experience
✅ NICET certification preferred but not required
✅ Must hold or be willing to obtain a state-required Fire Alarm/Low Voltage License
✅ Experience reading blueprints & site maps
✅ Ability to travel extensively (Up to 48 weeks per year)
✅ Must have basic telecommunication tools & PPE
✅ Valid driver's license with clean driving record (No DUI/DWI in the last 3 years)
✅ Ability to work at heights and operate BOOM or scissor lifts
