Position Overview:
This entry-level welding role focuses primarily on MIG welding carbon steel components while supporting general production and part preparation activities. The position plays an important part in maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety within the welding process.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform MIG welding on carbon steel parts according to prints and specifications
Assemble, tack, and prepare components for welding
Clean, grind, de-bur, and finish welded parts
Load and position materials at welding stations or fixtures
Operate and monitor welding equipment to ensure consistent quality
Conduct basic machine care, inspections, and daily cleaning
Inspect parts using basic measuring tools and visual checks
Follow production schedules, work orders, and standard procedures
Maintain an organized and safe work area
Assist with cross-training and other production tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Entry-level position; prior welding or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required
Basic understanding of fabrication or welding processes is a plus
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to perform physical production duties
Work Environment:
Manufacturing setting with exposure to welding equipment, moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. Regular standing, movement, and material handling required.
