Position Overview
As the Warehouse Manager, your primary objective is to lead the team, ensuring their motivation, ongoing training, and well-being. You will oversee daily team meetings, manage team schedules (including early mornings and late evenings), and verify critical metrics. Your secondary objective is to maintain the health of all warehousing areas, coordinating shipping, receiving, inventory management, and space optimization. Additionally, you'll work on improving data collection and communication processes within the warehouse areas.
Job Responsibilities
· Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team consisting of 1 clerk, 1 lead, and 5 forklift operators.
- Provide ongoing training to team members.
- Complete and distribute KPI and Daily S&R Report:
- Warehouse capacity
- Cycle counts
- Inbound/outbound traffic and truck turn efficiency
- KANBAN inventories
- Conduct daily team meetings to keep the team focused and organized.
- Recognize and praise team members for their contributions.
- Perform 5Y on any gaps or failures.
- Motivate your team to achieve max KPI scores.
- Efficiently organize and coordinate the team’s workflow.
- Ensure the team has the necessary resources, tools, and training.
- Conduct annual appraisals to assess team members’ progress and growth.
- Hold weekly 1:1 meeting with team members to assess their goal progress.
- Emphasize several points of focus.
- Set goals that align with each team member’s skills and aspirations.
· Equipment Management
- Ensure equipment safety systems are working through daily operator checklists.
- Audit checklists to ensure timely completion and equipment functionality.
- Request necessary repairs and maintenance.
· Compliance (Personnel Safety, Food Safety & Product Quality)
- Take ownership of the SRW (Shipping, Receiving & Warehousing) process.
- Organization plan and execution.
- Enforce compliance of policies and procedures.
- Recommend policy changes when necessary.
- Audit the team’s work to maintain high standards, including 5S standard for work areas and equipment storage.
· Audit critical FS & PQ activities:
- Inbound load integrity.
- Temperature verifications.
- Time out of storage.
- Outbound loads stacked well and secured.
- In/outbound lot verification.
- Review documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Skills and Qualifications
- General understanding of warehousing, shipping, and receiving principles (e.g., kanban, FIFO, cycle count, days on hand).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
- Strong work ethic.
- Adaptable and positive attitude.
- People management of 5+ team members.
- Experience in a cold storage environment.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
