The Team You Will Be Joining
A Texas state agency focused on ensuring the quality, compliance, and effectiveness of public health and healthcare programs across the state. This team works closely with providers, care recipients, and partner agencies to uphold medical standards and regulatory compliance.
Major Duties
Provide consultation, training, and technical assistance to agency staff, providers, and the medical community.
Review medical records and patient assessments for compliance with policies, accuracy of assessments, and quality of care.
Interpret and explain public health laws, healthcare regulations, and agency policies and procedures.
Coordinate and evaluate nursing services and public health activities.
Serve as a subject matter expert on nursing practices and educational programs.
Conduct site visits to healthcare or clinical learning environments.
May supervise other staff and provide oversight of nursing-related activities.
Perform related work as assigned.
What Are We Looking For?
Strong knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, and healthcare laws and regulations.
Experience with medical diagnoses, accepted treatment programs, and utilization review/control measures.
Ability to organize and evaluate health service delivery systems.
Proficient in patient care and medical recordkeeping.
Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
Familiarity with community health principles and public health program operations.
Capable of interpreting medical necessity and patterns of care.
Skilled in computer use and applicable healthcare or administrative software.
Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
Minimum Requirements
Experience in nursing.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in nursing, or from an accredited nursing program.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
