
Janitorial Worker Job Summary:
Responsible for the overall cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of the facilities through debris removal, and keeping areas clean, dirt-free, and dust-free.
Janitorial Worker Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety protocols, including proper safety postings and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
• Clean restrooms: empty trash receptacles, refill dispensers, sweep and mop floors, clean glass, sinks, and toilets
• Perform restroom detailing for deep cleaning and sanitation
• Dust mop floors and surfaces
• Clean glass surfaces throughout the facility
• Clean vents, fixtures, and restroom hardware
• Dust and clean entrance door thresholds, frames, and edging
• Collect and remove trash along designated trash routes
Janitorial Worker Secondary Responsibilities:
• Communicate effectively with building occupants and work collaboratively with all assigned personnel
• Follow both written and verbal job instructions accurately
• Ensure compliance with company policies, customer rules, and all safety regulations
• Support and contribute to company goals and objectives
• Work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment
• Demonstrate objectivity and openness to others’ views
• Participate in training sessions and on-the-job training (OJT) to continually develop skills
• Clock in and out daily as instructed, with no time corrections unless timekeeping systems
• Wear and maintain proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
• Perform duties without supervisory responsibilities

Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required; 1–3 months of related experience or training preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND INSURANCE
Skills
• Language: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Able to write basic reports.
• Math: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, as well as work with basic measurements (money, weight, volume, and distance).
Reasoning Ability to apply common understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

This role requires regular walking and frequent talking and hearing. Occasional standing, hand use, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required.
