Medical Front Desk Receptionist Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a position for a front desk/receptionist position for physical therapy outpatient clinic serving people in the El Paso and Las Cruces region. As front desk/receptionist, you will be delegated the position of overseeing administrative duties:
Medical Front Desk Receptionist Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a warm, professional manner
- Scheduling of patients, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Calling doctors’ offices • Assist with filing, scanning, faxing, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Answering telephone calls, faxes and emails from patients or Dr’s offices and directing them to relevant staff
- Take messages, and return calls as needed • Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and collect necessary patient documentation, as well as claim submissions
- Process patient check-in and check-out, including collecting payments and issuing receipts.
- Maintain organized and accurate patient records in the EMR system.
- Communicate effectively with therapists and other staff regarding scheduling or patient needs.
- Monitoring inventory for office supplies and equipment supplies
- Respond to record requests
- Collect and sort all mail and packages
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk and reception area.
Medical Front Desk Receptionist Knowledge & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).
- Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology is a plus.
- Administrative experience in healthcare setting or clerical is preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning clinic-specific EMR systems. Friendly, professional demeanor with a strong commitment to patient care
- Ability to type accurately and efficiently
Medical Front Desk Receptionist Pay & Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday 7:45 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Thursday (an hour lunch)
- Friday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Starting $12 - $14 per hour (Based on Experience)
