Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Reactor Operator for our client. This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining chemical reactor systems used to process raw materials into finished industrial products. This role involves controlling equipment, monitoring process conditions, collecting samples, maintaining production logs, and ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with environmental and quality standards.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
- Operate chemical reactors, blending tanks, and associated processing equipment
- Load solid, liquid, and gaseous raw materials according to batch instructions
- Monitor and adjust temperature, pressure, vacuum, and flow rates using valves and control systems
- Observe chemical reactions and respond to process deviations or alarms
- Collect product samples for laboratory testing
- Record gauge readings, batch data, and production logs accurately
- Perform routine cleaning, setup, and basic maintenance of reactors and related equipment
- Inspect equipment for proper operation and report mechanical or safety issues
- Follow written and verbal operating procedures and safety instructions
- Assist with packaging, material handling, and general production tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while complying with safety and environmental regulations
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 7–12 months of relevant manufacturing, chemical processing, or industrial experience preferred
- On-the-job training typically 1–3 months
- Ability to operate and adjust industrial processing equipment
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read gauges, meters, dials, and calibrated scales
- Capable of following detailed written and verbal instructions
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to document production data manually or electronically
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify abnormal process conditions
- Ability to multitask and make decisions under time pressure
- Ability to lift and carry up to 55 lbs regularly; up to 90 lbs occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (50–100% of shift)
- Ability to push, pull, climb, squat, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements
- Must be able to wear required PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes
- Must be able to wear a full-face respirator
- Commitment to following all safety, environmental, and quality procedures
- Ability to recognize hazards and respond appropriately
- Willingness to work in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Communication skills.
