EverStaff has partnered with a prestigious regional law firm to find a dynamic and innovative Records & Information Governance Manager. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about improving systems, enhancing compliance, and shaping long-term strategy in a legal environment. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and team leader, comfortable collaborating across departments and office locations.  This position can be based out of our Houston, TX or Baton Rouge, LA office.  
 
Position Overview:
The Records and Information Governance Manager will oversee the firm’s records lifecycle and lead a comprehensive RIM (Records and Information Management) program. This includes developing firm-wide best practices for managing digital and physical information, aligning with current legal and regulatory standards, and integrating cutting-edge industry trends. The manager will also provide direct leadership to staff and serve as a strategic partner across legal and operational teams.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and lead a strategic RIM program tailored to firm objectives, in collaboration with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  2. Assess and implement best practices from IG and RIM industry benchmarks and conferences
  3. Design and maintain policies for managing information across digital and electronic formats
  4. Partner with the technology team to enhance information repository infrastructure and procedures
  5. Deliver training and resources for attorneys, staff, and management at all levels
  6. Champion firm-wide awareness of the RIM program, using creative communication strategies
  7. Oversee departmental budget planning, including capital and operational expenditures
  8. Lead daily operations of the Records Department, including conflict checks, new matter intake, and records lifecycle oversight
  9. Mentor, coach, and develop department team members; foster a collaborative and growth-focused environment
  10. Respond to data requests and support the General Counsel and compliance team with legal recordkeeping obligations
  11. Coordinate the firm’s disaster recovery and business continuity plans related to information management
  12. Support security incident response in partnership with firm technology leadership
 
Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Library Science, Information Technology, or related field
  2. 5+ years of experience in Information Governance, compliance, data privacy, or law firm records management
  3. Professional certification such as CRM (Certified Records Manager), CRA (Certified Records Analyst), or RIM Certification preferred (or currently in process)
  4. Strong technical skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and experience managing staff
  5. Prior experience with records management systems (Aderant CMS preferred); familiarity with document management tools like FileSite (iManage) highly desired
  6. Must be able to travel between firm office locations and lift up to 25 pounds when needed

Compensation & Benefits:
This firm offers a competitive salary in the range of $95,000–$125,000, depending on experience, plus a robust benefits package that includes paid time off, 401(k), annual salary reviews, and performance bonuses.
