HSE Coordinator
Direct-Hire or TTH
Pay: 30.00/hr. - $35.00/hr.
Schedule: 7am – 4:30pm (4-10’s and off on Fridays)
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE Coordinator to support and enhance our health, safety, and environmental programs. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in HSE roles, with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and safety training. This role is critical in promoting a safe workplace culture and ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation and company policies.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
• Manage and maintain documentation and records related to HSE functions.
• Perform regular safety inspections in the manufacturing area to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Update and maintain contractor portals with required OSHA reports and other relevant documentation.
• Assist in the development, implementation and auditing of HSE policies and procedures.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops on HSE topics for employees and contractors.
• Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics.
• Investigate and report on incidents and near-misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in the development of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
• Collaborate with the QHSE Manager to ensure continuous improvement in HSE practices.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Assist with quality administration and records when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices.
• Thorough understanding of the product and/or process being inspected.
• Maintains a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to function effectively both independently, under supervision, and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Exhibits strong problem-solving abilities.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in [industry, e.g., construction, manufacturing, oil & gas].
• Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Able to travel as needed.
