We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Plastics Grinding Operator to join a growing production team in Liberty, SC! The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining grinding machines to process scrap plastic materials, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency in the production of recycled plastics. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Grinding Equipment: Set up, monitor, and operate plastic grinding machines to process plastic materials into consistent sizes and textures, according to specifications.
- Monitor Production: Ensure that the grinding process is running efficiently, adjust machine settings as necessary, and ensure high-quality output.
- Material Handling: Load and unload plastic materials into the grinders, ensuring proper handling and storage of raw materials and processed product.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished product for consistency, quality, and adherence to customer specifications; make necessary adjustments to improve product quality.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on grinding equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed. Troubleshoot any mechanical issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance staff.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of material input/output, machine settings, production quantities, and quality control checks.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other production staff to ensure smooth workflow, assist with other tasks as needed, and contribute to team goals.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred).
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with plastics or grinding machines (preferred but not required).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine machine maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications and production instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential overtime & weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.
Shift Schedule: 3rd Shift
Pay Rate: $16/Hour
