Production Associate - Plating

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Plating Technician to join a growing team in Brooklyn Park, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining plating lines to meet customer requirements and quality standards. The position offers a hands-on environment requiring attention to detail, chemical handling, and preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with production supervisors and quality teams to ensure accurate plating of parts
- Read and interpret work orders regarding part specifications, thickness, and plating locations
- Perform daily preventive maintenance, including monitoring chemical bath temperatures and levels
- Follow safe plating practices and chemical handling protocols
- Change out chemicals and filters in coordination with the chemistry and waste treatment departments
- Develop and maintain written procedures for all plated products
- Ensure compliance with labeling and storage requirements alongside the EHS Director
- Manage SPC (Statistical Process Control) charts for Electroless Nickel plating processes
- Identify and report any unsafe conditions to the safety committee or maintenance personnel
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of plating tank chemistry and chemical compatibility
- Ability to perform and understand titrations and chemical analysis
- Strong troubleshooting and R&D capabilities (both theoretical and hands-on)
- Proficiency with basic math calculations
- Ability to detect color changes during titration analysis
- Regular and reliable attendance required
- Ability to manage multiple plating jobs simultaneously
Working Conditions:
- Constant standing/walking to move racks and barrels across the plating line
- Occasional sitting to complete paperwork
- Lift/carry 0–15 lbs constantly, up to 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Exposure to chemical baths, laboratory equipment, and plating machinery
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) including glasses, aprons, boots, face shields, and gloves must be worn
