Transit Bus Field Service Technician
Bay Area, CA
$35+/Hour | Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

We're looking for a hands-on Field Service Technician to support transit agencies throughout the Bay Area. This role combines welding, fabrication, troubleshooting, inspections, warranty repairs, retrofits, and technical support on next-generation transit buses.

What You'll Do
- Must be able to perform welding and fabrication repairs on transit vehicles
- Complete warranty repairs, retrofits, and vehicle inspections
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Diagnose and repair wiring, relays, lighting systems, motors, and related components
- Conduct vehicle acceptance testing and quality inspections
- Travel locally to customer sites and transit agencies throughout the Bay Area
- Document service activities and communicate findings with customers and internal teams
- Follow all OSHA, company, and high-voltage safety procedures
- PPE Equipment provided
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of welding, fabrication, maintenance, or field service experience
- Need to be certified in Stainless Steel
- Experience with MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Core welding
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Experience working on buses, heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, rail, fleet equipment, HVAC systems, or industrial machinery is highly preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license

- Hydrogen fuel cell technology
- PLC troubleshooting
- High-voltage electrical systems
Certifications (Preferred)
- AWS Certified Welder
- Certified in Stainless Steel
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Electrical or HVAC Certification
- High Voltage Safety Training
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting at $35/hour and up
- Compensation based on experience, certifications, and technical skill level
