Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

· Perform fitting, layout, and fabrication work on barges during repair and maintenance projects

· Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders

· Measure, cut, fit, and tack weld steel components as required

· Repair and replace structural components, including plates, stiffeners, frames, and bulkheads

· Work closely with welders and supervisors to ensure proper fit-up and job completion

· Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, and measuring equipment safely

· Ensure work meets quality standards, specifications, and safety requirements

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company and site safety policies

Qualifications

· Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Class A Fitter required

· 2+ years of experience in barge repair or marine fabrication required

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

· Strong knowledge of structural steel fitting and layout

· Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment

· Must be able to stand, bend, lift, and work in confined spaces as required
