Machine Operator

A local company is looking for a Machine Operator/Forklift Driver on 1st shift, the work schedule is Monday-Thursday, 6AM-4:30PM with overtime as needed on Friday.

Starting pay for this position is $19.61/hr.

Summary of Job:

Employee should be able to run fabrication machinery to cut and form aluminum parts for boat manufacturing.

Essential Job Functions: (responsibilities, duties and standards of the position, including supervisory level and

reporting relationship)

1. Perform housekeeping daily to maintain a safe work environment.

2. Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and numeric control machines and machining centers to

fabricate aluminum parts.

3. Able to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions

and tolerances of finished work pieces.

4. Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of

cut, degree of bends, calculate order in which process must follow.

5. Starts and observes machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust

controls or control media as required.

6. Should be able to work with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining

or assembly problems.

7. Must be able to make decisions as to the quality of the part as it completes each point of the process.

8. Ensure the helper assigned to their machine is following all safety and compliance rules.

Qualifications and Skills: (in terms of experience, education & training)

1. Observe all safety rules in performance of duties.

2. Ability to understand and follow instructions.

3. Should be able to read shop mathematics.

4. Should be able to read blueprints.

5. Must be able to stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of time.

6. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

7. Capable of working in a loud environment.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
