Pay Range:
- $21.64/hour with CDA
- $24.00/hour with Associate Degree
- $25.10/hour with Bachelor’s Degree
- $26.08/hour with Master’s Degree
Shift: 1st Shift
Position Summary
The Infant/Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for children ages 0–3 years old. Teachers work collaboratively with a partner teacher to support the growth, development, and school readiness goals of a classroom of 6–8 children.
This role focuses on building positive relationships with children and families while promoting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through hands-on learning experiences and structured curriculum activities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and daily classroom activities
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for children of all abilities
- Encourage positive social interactions, exploration, and self-motivation
- Observe and document children’s developmental progress and behaviors
- Support children’s emotional and social development using positive behavior strategies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Collaborate with families, coworkers, and support staff to promote child success
- Complete developmental and social-emotional screenings within required timelines
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and home visits
- Supervise classroom activities, outdoor play, and field trips
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and classroom documentation
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and licensing regulations
- Support individualized learning plans, IEPs, and special needs accommodations as needed
- Participate in reflective coaching, ongoing training, and professional development
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education & Experience Requirements
- Minimum Infant/Toddler CDA preferred
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field preferred
- Candidates with a high school diploma and at least 3 years of recent center-based infant/toddler experience may also be considered
- Candidates without a CDA must obtain an Infant/Toddler CDA within 6 months through the FDS apprenticeship program
- Minimum of 1 year of center-based experience working with infants and toddlers preferred
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Must pass required physical exams and background checks

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Ability to move quickly during emergencies
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, sit, and engage with children throughout the day
- Frequent use of hands and wrists for typing and writing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced childcare environment with noise and active movement
Additional Information
- Local travel may be required for meetings and work-related activities (up to 10%)
- Exposure to cleaning and sanitizing products may occur
