Position Details
Salary Range: $60,000–$70,000/year
Shift: 1st Shift
Position Summary
The Center Director serves as the operational leader of the center, ensuring compliance with Head Start standards, childcare licensing regulations, and company policies and procedures. This role oversees daily center operations, staff management, family engagement initiatives, and educational programming designed to support school readiness and child development.
The ideal candidate is an experienced early childhood education leader with strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills who is passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environment for children and families.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead and oversee daily center operations to ensure compliance with Head Start, licensing, and program requirements
Support the implementation of educational curriculum and school readiness goals
Coordinate with Family Advocates to strengthen family engagement and parent involvement
Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate center staff
Monitor staff performance, coaching, and professional development plans
Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations
Ensure children’s health, nutrition, mental health, and developmental needs are addressed appropriately
Oversee health and safety compliance, including indoor and outdoor facility inspections
Manage center budgets, instructional materials, and operational resources
Review reports and monitoring systems to ensure timely follow-up and compliance
Maintain accurate recordkeeping and reporting systems
Coordinate community partnerships and parent volunteer opportunities
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and program-wide activities, including occasional evening events
Support teachers in obtaining educational and professional development goals
Promote a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for all children
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
OR
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education required
Previous teaching experience in an early childhood setting preferred
3–5 years of supervisory or management experience required
Experience managing preschool or infant/toddler programs preferred
Experience with community partnerships and collaborative programs preferred
Must pass required physical exams and background checks
Local and occasional long-distance travel may be required up to 10%

Physical Requirements
Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs unassisted
Ability to move quickly during emergencies
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday
Frequent use of hands and wrists for typing and writing
Ability to work closely with children, families, staff, and the public
Exposure to noise, cleaning products, and active childcare environments
