A private luxury residence on the Upper East Side is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join an established household team. This role will work closely with the principals and alongside a senior housekeeper in maintaining the home to exceptional standards.
The ideal candidate is polished, discreet, highly organized, and comfortable working in a formal private residence with a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Strong attention to detail and the ability to anticipate household needs are essential.
While the position is primarily based in New York City, there may occasionally be opportunities to assist at other family residences if needed. Travel is expected to be minimal.
Responsibilities
• Perform detailed daily housekeeping and maintain all living spaces to exceptional standards
• Execute museum-quality cleaning and proper care of fine furnishings, surfaces, artwork, and linens
• Assist with laundry, ironing, steaming, and wardrobe care
• Maintain organization throughout closets, storage areas, and household systems
• Work closely with the senior housekeeper and household staff to ensure seamless daily operations
• Prepare the home for principals’ arrivals, guests, and entertaining
• Assist with packing and unpacking as needed
• Maintain inventory of household supplies and assist with restocking
• Support occasional overnight coverage on a rotating basis in the future

Additional Schedule Notes
• In the future, the schedule may include approximately one overnight every two weeks as part of a rotation among the housekeeping team
• Overnight coverage typically corresponds with the principals’ midweek stays in the city
• Minimal travel may occasionally be requested to assist at seasonal residences when needed

Requirements
• Minimum 5+ years of experience working in a formal private residence
• Strong knowledge of luxury home care and museum-quality housekeeping
• Experience working as part of a household team
• Excellent laundry, ironing, and wardrobe care skills
• Professional, discreet, and service-oriented demeanor
• Flexible schedule with occasional overtime or overnight availability
• Professional, punctual, and highly reliable
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Valid U.S. work authorization
• Strong knowledge of luxury home care and museum-quality housekeeping
• Experience working as part of a household team
