Lapeer plastic injection molding company specializing in components, emblems, ornamentations, decorative trims and other plastic components is seeking an Experienced Purchasing Coordinator to join their team for a 1-2 month temporary assignment.  1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM, $18-23 per hour based upon experience.  All candidates must have previous experience in a Purchasing Coordinator position, light industry and manufacturing experience is helpful, and submit a complete, up-to-date resume to be considered.

SUMMARY: 
Has a solid working knowledge of the services and goods that are to be purchased and supports management of all supply chain functions which may include, but not limited to forecasting, material procurement, rate setting, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution. 
                                
PRINCIPLE DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE JOB:
-Obtain the best possible deal for by purchasing the highest quality products at the lowest possible prices while at the same 
 time taking into the consideration quality, reliability, technical support and availability.
-Issue blanket purchase orders as required – retaining appropriate authorization from management.
-Generate and issue MRO purchase orders as required - retaining appropriate authorization from management.
-Maintain weekly supplier schedules.
-Promote and maintain current and future supply base (Approved Supplier List).
-Coordinate raw materials weekly cycle counting activities with manufacturing. Input and submit to management for review.
-Maintain and issue supplier ratings monthly via QAD.
-Assist in product transfers to and from suppliers.
-Initiate inbound premium freight – retaining appropriate authorization from management.
-Maintain supplier maintenance screens within QAD system – lead time, minimum orders and safety stock as required.
-Maintain raw material inventories to acceptable levels.
-Communicate with support staff (Sales, Engineering, Accounting, etc.) on supplier issues and concerns.
-Ensure that materials and parts utilized in the supply chain meet minimum requirements for quality assurance standards.
-Forward to management price variance claims resulting from Engineering changes, component obsolescence or forecast 
 Variance.
-Issue Blanket Purchased Orders as required – retaining appropriate authorization from management.
-Generate and issue MRO Purchase Orders as required –retaining appropriate authorization from management.
-Contact MRO suppliers and process orders as required.
-Maintain weekly supplier Schedule Orders.
-Attend production, performance, APQP and At-Risk meetings as required.
-Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
-Previous experience in a purchasing role.
-Proficient in MS word, excel and power point.
-Excellent communication, math and negotiation skills.
-Ability to analyze financial and technical data and solid understanding of supply chain management.
-Purchasing management/support.
-Working knowledge of inventory control.
