Position: Roofing Helper - Laborer
Location: Ashland, VA
Compensation: Starting at $20/hour, Based on Experience
Schedule: Monday – Friday w/ availability to work nights and weekends

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Roofing Helper, you’ll work alongside an experienced crew to complete roofing projects, including tear-offs, installations, and repairs. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone who enjoys physical work, learning on the job, and being part of a team. No roofing experience? No problem — we’ll train the right candidate who brings a great attitude and strong work ethic!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in removing old roofing materials and preparing job sites
Support the crew during roof installation and repair work
Set up and tear down safety equipment and tools
Follow all safety rules, including use of PPE and fall protection
Attend weekly safety meetings and job training sessions
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Help load/unload materials and clean up job sites
Work closely with your team to ensure high-quality results
Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working at heights and on rooftops
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and use hand tools
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Tolerance for working in hot, cold, and noisy environments

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Outdoor job sites and rooftops
Exposure to potentially hazardous materials and equipment
Must follow all safety guidelines and use required protective gear

REQUIREMENTS:

Must-Haves:

Willingness to learn and work hard
Ability to work 8 to 12-hour shifts, including weekends
Reliable transportation and ability to show up on time
State-issued ID

Clean background (no felonies in past 5 years; no crimes against children)

Nice-to-Haves:
Valid driver’s license
Previous experience in roofing or general construction
