About the Role
A leading engineering firm is seeking a Project Manager – Water Treatment to support a growing municipal drinking water practice. This role leads highly technical projects including drinking water treatment facilities, pump stations, and water storage tanks. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams while delivering complex, high‑impact projects throughout Colorado and the western U.S.
This is a strong opportunity for a technically capable, relationship‑driven PM who excels in leadership, mentorship, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead engineering projects from planning through construction, including safety, quality, permitting, procurement, and project controls.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and strong partnership.
- Manage scope, schedule, budgets, KPIs, and project financial results.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to consistently meet QA/QC standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide ongoing performance feedback.
Technical Expertise
- Apply conventional and advanced treatment technologies to solve complex water quality challenges.
- Support design, construction, and execution of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities, lead proposals, and expand existing client relationships.
- Support review, negotiation, and execution of contracts and change orders.
- Stay visible in the regional water/wastewater market through active participation in professional organizations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field required (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of engineering design experience, with 3+ years of project management (10+ years preferred).
- Professional Registration (PE) preferred.
- Consulting experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build client relationships and lead successful projects.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to simplify complex information.
- Solid analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management/scheduling/cost control tools.
- Comfortable collaborating with contractors, owners, engineers, and designers in a fast‑paced environment.
