Test Lab Mechanic Purpose:
Individual with a high mechanical aptitude required for the timely and quality proper Installation of Vertical and Horizontal pumps for Performance and NPSH Testing.
The following equipment will be used on a daily basis: hand tools, fork lift trucks, cranes, alignment equipment, and impact wrenches. Installation consists of connecting sections of piping together and to the pumps, level installation of the pumps on the test stands/pads, installation motor and alignment to the pumps. The Individual must have good organization skills and good verbal and written communication skills.
Test Lab Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Ability to Read and understand engineering drawings/prints and work instructions
- Installation of Piping, Valves, pumps, motors and instrumentation per instructions
- Alignment of pump/motor assembly with proper alignment tools
- Measure and record vital setup information
- General Housekeeping required by a laboratory setting
- Safe operation of Overhead cranes and forklifts
Test Lab Mechanic Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED Required
Test Lab Mechanic Experience:
- Test Lab Mechanic 1 year preferred
- Basic Math
- Print reading
- Knowledge/experience with Hand Tools
- Fork lift trucks
- overhead cranes
- laser alignment equipment
- Perform other tasks as needed
Test Lab Mechanic Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged Standing
- Walking , bending , kneeling , twisting and stooping
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Hand and Eye Coordination
