Direct Hire Labor and Employment Associate – Detroit
Our client is seeking a highly motivated 3rd to 4th year associate, Class of 2022 to 2023, to join their nationally recognized Practice Group in Detroit.
Responsibilities:
- Handle wage and hour class action litigation
- Support union negotiations
- Provide advice and counseling on employment matters
- Manage OSHA matters and EEOC charges
- Handle single plaintiff employment litigation
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and court filings
- Participate in discovery and motion practice
- Assist with trial preparation in state and federal courts
- Support settlement conferences and negotiations
Qualifications:
- 3 to 4 years of relevant Labor and Employment experience
- Strong legal writing and research skills
- Experience with discovery and motion practice required
- Trial preparation experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
- Proven client relationship and business development skills
- Excellent academic credentials required
Requirements:
- JD from an ABA approved law school
- Active member in good standing with the Michigan Bar
- Ability to obtain timely admission to the Michigan Bar if not currently admitted
