Mergers & Acquisitions Attorney

Our client, a prestigious law firm located in Downtown Detroit, is seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions Attorney with 5 to 8 years of experience handling sophisticated corporate and transactional matters. This opportunity offers exposure to high value transactions, a collaborative environment, and the ability to work with respected business clients across a variety of industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate stock purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, LLC operating agreements, joint venture agreements, sales agreements, and other complex commercial contracts

• Lead and support mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic business transactions

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to structure, negotiate, and execute transactions

• Advise clients regarding legal risk, corporate governance, and business strategy matters

• Manage transactions from due diligence through post closing integration

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school

• Active admission to the Michigan State Bar

• 4 to 8 years of experience focused on M&A and corporate transactional work

• Prior experience in a law firm or in house legal department preferred

• Strong experience handling complex transactions independently

• Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
