A premier fine-dining establishment is seeking a Head Chef for the opening of its new location in downtown Calgary. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all culinary operations, including menu development, kitchen team recruitment, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This is a unique opportunity to shape the culinary identity of a new restaurant and build a high-performance kitchen team dedicated to excellence.

Compensation
Total Annual Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all back-of-house operations, ensuring seamless kitchen workflow and the consistent delivery of exceptional dishes that align with the restaurant’s fine-dining standards.
Develop and execute a world-class menu that reflects creativity, seasonality, and the highest quality ingredients.
Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing kitchen team, fostering a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Manage food costs, inventory, and kitchen budgets to ensure financial efficiency without compromising quality.
Maintain rigorous standards for food safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health regulations.
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure a cohesive and exceptional guest experience.

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a fine-dining or upscale restaurant environment.
A strong culinary background with expertise in menu development, plating, and modern cooking techniques.
Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing kitchen teams, with a focus on mentorship and professional growth.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
