Purpose

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Certified Medical Assistant to join a premier, fast-paced specialty dermatology practice. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care by supporting both clinical workflows and vital administrative operations. This is an ideal position for an adaptable professional committed to delivering an exceptional patient experience in a collaborative clinical environment.

Responsibilities

Clinical Rooming & Intake: Check daily schedules, manage efficient patient flow, accompany patients to exam rooms, take vital signs, and document comprehensive medical histories and screenings.
Procedural Assistance: Prepare patient rooms, set up specialized dermatological instruments, and assist providers during clinical examinations and procedures as needed.
Medication & Lab Support: Manage prescription refills and insurance prior authorizations. Under physician direction, administer injectable medications, perform phlebotomy, and process level-one laboratory tests.
Infection Control & Inventory: Clean and sanitize exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits. Monitor and restock clinical supply inventories.
Front Office & Communication: Triage patient telephone calls, coordinate chart preparations, verify insurance coverage, and relay clear post-visit or educational instructions to patients and families.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality and accurately record all data within the electronic medical record in accordance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and Department of Health guidelines.

Minimum Essential Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an approved certified medical assistant program from an accredited organization
Current/Valid medical assistant certification from organizations accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), which includes AAMA, AMT, NHA, and NCCT.
Solid working knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room workflows.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
