Our client is the largest digital rights media company in the U.S., a performing rights organization with over 100 years of history. Based in the heart of New York City, they protect musicians and artists through advocacy, copyright protection, and royalty distribution. They are seeking an experienced Application Performance Engineer to lead the management and optimization of observability tools for AWS-based applications. While Datadog experience is strongly preferred, candidates with hands-on expertise in New Relic, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace will also be considered.
Job Title: Application Performance Engineer
Duration: 6 + Month Contract
Location: Hybrid schedule: Requires onsite presence 3 days per week in Midtown, NYC (Only local candidates will be considered)
Pay Rate: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour. (W2 only)
Responsibilities
- Manage and administer Datadog observability tools including APM, logs, infrastructure, and synthetics.
- Set up and troubleshoot application and serverless monitoring.
- Build and maintain customized dashboards.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system anomalies.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve monitoring standards and tool usage.
- Document processes and create training materials for internal use.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience implementing and administering Datadog monitoring solutions (strong preference).
- Candidates with equivalent experience using New Relic, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace will also be considered.
- At least 2 years of hands-on AWS DevOps experience, including ECS Fargate, CloudWatch, and Lambda.
- Strong understanding of security, monitoring, and performance aspects of cloud-native platforms and applications.
- Experience with instrumentation and performance monitoring of applications in Java, .NET, Node.js, and Python.
