We are looking for a Accounts Specialist to be responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions that ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial processes related to payroll, taxation, insurance, retirement reporting, and internal reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Pay bills promptly upon receipt to maintain program integrity and service continuity
- Process and manage payroll deductions
- Pay 941 Federal taxes using EFTPS
- Ensure timely health insurance payments
- Submit employee retirement data and rehired retiree information
- Manage invoices and hours for retirees through ERS systems
- Submit state taxes
- File quarterly reports
- Record monthly journal entries
- Submit MIERS monthly
- Submit employee earnings and payroll summary to the department of community health
- Post residential and vehicle expenses
- Track and email revenue/ expenses and overtime reports
- Assist with internal reporting
Requirements
- Clean Drug Test
- Willing to undergo criminal background check
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 2 year’s experience in payroll, finance, or accounting
- Strong proficiency with Excel, EFTPS, ERS, and online payroll / tax platforms
- High attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality
- Effective communication and problem solving skills
Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Pay Range: $17.62 - $28.85/ Hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
