Senior Systems Engineer
Location: Miami, FL (Onsite)
A respected law firm in Miami is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support and optimize a complex enterprise IT environment. This role requires a hands-on technical professional who can manage infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to ongoing system improvements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support IT infrastructure including servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and storage systems
- Monitor overall system health and performance, making recommendations for improvements
- Apply software updates, security patches, and ongoing system maintenance
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex technical issues
- Maintain documentation for hardware, configurations, maintenance history, and procedures
- Research and evaluate new technologies to improve performance, availability, and security
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users, including attorneys and staff
- Collaborate with IT team members and mentor junior staff as needed
- Travel occasionally to support additional office locations

Required Technical Experience
- Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and MS SQL
- Citrix technologies (XenApp / NetScaler or similar)
- Enterprise backup and disaster recovery systems
- Microsoft Exchange / Outlook
- VMware virtualization and enterprise storage technologies
- Firewall configuration and policy management (enterprise-level)
- Disaster recovery processes including replication, failover, and failback
- Experience with document management systems is a plus
- Experience in a legal or professional services environment is a plus
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, VMware)
- Security-related certifications are a plus
