Documentation Specialist
Job location:Leander TX.
Pay:$22-25/hour
Job type : full time
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
REPORTS TO:Quality Manager
JOB SUMMARY
Incumbent is responsible for creating instructional and informational materials and operating instructions as well as developing, editing and managing technical and product documents within the QMS. Incumbent is responsible for supporting all departments, in particular, production and new product development.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Translate customer specifications into production end-user documentation
- Utilizes appropriate computer software application for document text production
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and standards compliance of documentation
- Manage documentation approval process
- Obtain internal review and sign-off approvals
- Delete outdated documentation
- Edit and update completed documentation as needed to ensure documents are of the highest quality
- Apply working knowledge of technical knowledge, including customer specifications, to documentation and publication standards
- Manage and meet project milestones as related to documentation supply chain
- Interfaces with engineers and technical professionals in writing, editing and publishing various types of customer documents
- Responsible for operations programs requiring cross-functional involvement
- Strong interdepartmental working relationships
- Works very closely with Supply Management team and Production
- Development of process documentation
- Drive improvement through shared practices and synergies with production
- Actively participates in Safety Program
- Adheres to all quality assurance procedures
- Assist in meeting production requirements
- Works overtime as required (sometimes with minimal/short notice)
- Participates in process improvement activities
- Participates in Safety Program
- Follows instructions of Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager
- Any other duties and responsibilities as needed
EDUCATION
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2-3 years’ experience in New Product Introduction or Project Management preferred
- Minimum of two years of electro-mechanical assembly experience preferred
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Basic knowledge of assembly hand tools
- Basic knowledge of electrical assembly
- Capable of learning to read prints and drawings
- Self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision
- At least 3-5years of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Visio experience developing documentation related with policy, practices, and procedures for a manufacturing environment
- Experience in editing, collating, and assembling documents for iterative review in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to read, understand and correctly follow prints, drawings, and technical instructions
- Experienced working in teams or natural work groups
- Conceptual thinker with excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate ideas across the various functions within the business
- Demonstrated ability to produce excellent results within a project timeline

- Required to sit for long periods of time and frequent use of hands and fingers, to handle and feel
- Moderate activity, with occasional bending and stooping, standing and/or walking for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
- Speaking and hearing: able to comprehend English language
- See and have visual capability: able to see screens, monitors, and environment
- Works inside, closely with others
- Generally works regular work hours, occasionally works after hours
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy and can be loud
- Warehouse/plant climate can be based upon outdoor weather conditions
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time
