Assistant Buyer

Position: Buyer (MRO / Packaging Procurement)

Location: Chicago, IL – onsite daily

Full Time PERMANENT

Salary Range of $65K - $80K

I’m currently looking to add a Buyer to a manufacturing Purchasing team to MRO and Packaging procurement operations. This is a strong opportunity for someone coming from manufacturing, food production, packaging, or industrial environments that enjoys a fast-paced purchasing role with direct impact on operations.

This is a highly visible role supporting plant operations, sourcing initiatives, supplier management, and purchasing execution for a nationally recognized manufacturing organization.

What I am looking for in a candidate:

Longevity – Tenured experience with the same company for 2-3 years at a stint
ideally 5+ years of purchasing / procurement experience
MRO purchasing experience - buying parts for machines
Manufacturing industry background
Vendor management and negotiations
Oracle ERP experience preferred
Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs / Pivot Tables)
Ability to manage supply issues, purchasing activity, and vendor follow-up
