Refrigeration Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to support the maintenance, commissioning, and service coordination of commercial refrigeration systems for a growing operation in Ladson, SC. This hands-on role focuses on equipment diagnostics, vendor oversight, and ensuring the reliability and performance of a high-demand rental fleet.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-testing, commissioning, and preventative maintenance on commercial refrigeration units (Daikin, Thermo King, etc.).
Schedule and prioritize service needs, assigning repair work to vendors and technicians as needed.
Provide ongoing training and support to service vendors and partners.
Use electrical and mechanical testing equipment to diagnose and evaluate system performance.
Read and interpret complex refrigeration and HVAC schematics.
Identify and document warranty-related issues and repairs.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Operate hand and power tools including wrenches, gauges, and precision instruments.
Assist with additional preventative maintenance efforts as directed by local management.
Complete all work with minimal supervision, ensuring timely and high-quality results.
Support other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Previous experience with commercial refrigeration systems required; experience with Thermo King or Daikin equipment preferred.
Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.
Ability to read complex schematics and technical documentation.
Experience coordinating with vendors and training service partners is a plus.
Must be self-directed and able to manage multiple tasks independently.
Must be able to travel daily to local job sites within the Charleston area.
Must be able to walk, stand, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods.
Regular use of hands to operate tools and perform mechanical work.
Ability to safely work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms.
Must be able to work in varying weather conditions.
Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.

The estimated hourly salary range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00 per hour, though a candidate's salary will be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience.
